چکیده
Abstract Background and Aims elevated Lipoprotein (a) levels are well recognized as a genetic risk factor for atherothrombotic events. Recently, new therapeutic approaches – such small interfering RNA (siRNA) antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) have been developed under evaluation in phase 3 trials. Evidences from literature suggest the need screening Lp(a) premature coronary artery disease. Aim of our study was to evaluate, real world scenario: 1) percentage CAD whom clinicians choose screen Lp(a); 2) prevalence hyperLp(a) CAD. Methods we retrospectively evaluated data patients admitted acute syndrome at Department Cardiology Careggi University Hospital, Florence, between 1st January 2018 31th July 2022. Inclusion criteria were: age < 50 years men 55 women; confirmed diagnosis with obstructive disease hospital discharge. Results selected 226 (50 F 176 M; total median 46 years, 49 M 45 years). LDL values admission were 117.12 mg/dl). Nine out pts (3.9%) had higher than 190 mg/dl, suggesting possible Heterozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (with respect expected general population: 1/250 (0.004%). No patient hepatic or thyroid Sixty-eight (30%) triglycerides 150 mg/dl; 41/226 (18.1%) 200 mg/dl. As regards levels, dosage performed 93/226 (41.2%). We found that lipoprotein required more frequently 2020, 2021 2022 (respectively 61%, 49% 70% patients) 2019 27% 23% (Figure 1). Among dosed, (> 300 mg/L) documented 45/93 (48.4%). 15/93 (16.1%) extreme 700 2). In two both other patients, only lipid parameter range, By comparing these an historical cohort ACS >50 yrs women respectively, multivariate analysis adjusted classical factors (OR:2.1 (95% CI 1.3–4.2), p<0.005) significantly associated (OR: 1.8 1.4–3.9); p<0.05). Conclusions results demonstrated that: it is urgent, clinical point view, apply protocols including dosage; particular population independently

Association of vitamin D deficiency and premature coronary artery disease
Background: Evidence suggests hypovitaminosis D is associated with increased risk of coronary artery disease (CAD) and its extent and related risk factors. However, some investigations have produced contrary results. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the association between serum vitamin D levels and the severity of premature coronary artery involvement. Methods: This randomized prospective, cas...

Background: There is limited evidence regarding the risk factors and nutritional patterns in patients with premature coronary artery disease (PCAD). This study aims to investigate the relationship between different dietary patterns and risk factors in patients with PCAD. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on PCAD patients, including men younger than 55 years and women younger tha...

Atherosclerosis is the most common cause of myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke. Various risk factors have been identified for atherosclerosis. Recently, bacterial and viral organisms, which are involved in chronic inflammatory processes, have been also implicated in atherosclerosis development. Individuals with a prior history of periodontal diseases and/or tooth loss are considered to be...
متن کاملFamilial hypoalphalipoproteinemia in premature coronary artery disease.
Hypoalphalipoproteinemia (HA) is a common finding in patients with premature coronary artery disease. To characterize the common familial forms of HA, we studied 102 families of probands with premature coronary artery disease; 40 probands (39.2%) had HA. Of these, 25 had at least one first-degree relative affected with HA; 11 had familial hypertriglyceridemia with HA (FTgHA); 10 had familial co...
